The First Rate Plumbing Heating and Cooling Inc story starts with co-founders John Barner and Andrea Griego. John Barner attended the University of New Mexico and worked in a local super-precision machine shop. Working here taught him that attention to detail matters and to think like a perfectionist. John took a break from school, left the machine shop, and then began working full-time for a plumbing and heating company here in Albuquerque, NM. After 20+ years of being an employee, John and Andrea co-found First Rate Plumbing, Heating and Cooling. John holds his MM98 Mechanical contractors license, Journeyman Plumbing, Journeyman Gas, Journeyman Refrigeration, Boiler Operator, EPA Certification and Nate certification.

Andrea Griego started her career in the industry at the age of 18. At 19, she realized she loved the industry and searched for a foothold in it. She was fortunate enough to find a great company in the community where she became the Vice President. After 15 years of employment John and Andrea co-found First Rate Plumbing, Heating and Cooling. Andrea holds her MM98 Mechanical contractors license, Journeyman Refrigeration, Journeyman Plumbing, Journeyman Gas and EPA Certification.
